The Italian pianist Stefano Bollani has been acclaimed by the critics both for his performances with trumpeter Enrico Rava and for his solo piano performances which were documented on his previous recording on Label Bleu, 'Les Fleurs Bleues.' Only just 31 years old, he has gained a vast range of experience playing with the likes of Enrico Rava, Richard Galliano, Lee Konitz, Gato Barbieri, Pat Metheny, Phil Woods, Jimmy Cobb, Han Bennink, Paolo Fresu, Aldo Romano, Roswell Rudd, Kenny Wheeler, Greg Osby and Toninho Horta.

The repertoire that Bollani has chosen to play on `Småt Småt' reflects his diverse background in classical music and rock as well as jazz. So, as well as his own compositions, he has included music from Lennon and McCartney, Frank Zappa, Prokofiev, Ginastera and Thelonious Monk.
