Van Decker, Ph.D., currently teaches music at Imperial Valley College and performs with various jazz & rock groups in the Imperial Valley (CA). He holds both a Masters Degree (CSULB) and a Doctorate (UCSD) in music composition. Over the years his compositions have been performed by many different ensembles including: The Lansing Symphony Orchestra, The CSULB Steel Drum Ensemble, The CSULB Master Chorale and The UCSD Concert Band. Also, his songs and guitar playing can be heard in two films: 'Fear Dot Com' and 'Parasomnia'. Born in Michigan, he began as the lead guitarist for 'The Plagues' and shortly after, he formed Michigan's own, 'Plain Brown Wrapper'
