Corpus Delicti-from Dust to Light

'From Dust To Light' is the debut official live album by cult French post-punk band Corpus Delicti, coming to celebrate a triumphant reformation in 2022, after 25 years of absence. Recorded in Mexico City in April 2023, during a sold out concert in front of 1,200 people, this live of 17 vinyl tracks and 15 on CD perfectly captures the incredible energy that the band has been able to develop on stage today. After his visit to Edinburgh in early 2024, the website 'Ghothpostpunkrevival' summarized the concert with these words: 'A glittering fusion of magic, music and drama that few other bands, all eras, can reach'. Born in Nice in 1992 around Sébastien (vocals), Franck (guitar), Chrys (bass) and Roma (drums), Corpus Delicti immediately imposes a rock little represented in France, via a first album that has become a reference of the genre: 'Twilight' (1993). Fusing the best of post-punk with remarkable energy, creativity and melodies, the band earns their nobility abroad, via a 10-date American tour and concerts in Europe. After two other perfect albums, the band split in 1997. Twenty-five years later, faced with a popularity that has only grown over all these years, the original quartet reunited with the American label Cleopatra, which was then preparing to reissue the band's catalogue. Roma, the drummer, unable to play for health reasons, will be replaced by Laurent Tamagno, drummer for M83. In 2022/2023, Corpus Delicti finally resurrects live, with a series of concerts and sold out around the world: Paris (La Maroquinerie), London, Madrid, Athens, Rome.30 dates in total including a triumphant Mexican tour. There will also be major summer festivals in Germany, Portugal and Belgium, in front of thousands of people. The end of the year sees the release of a brand new single 'Chaos' happily welcomed by fans around the world. In early 2024, with growing popularity, streamings surpassed 2 million worldwide and the band gives another series of iconic concerts including one in Manchester Cathedral in February and a full Trabendo facing a raging Parisian audience in May 2025. Corpus Delicti is working on a new album.
