Selected Sides 1943 - 1960

De Amerikaanse zangeres Jo Stafford wordt ook wel de Nashville Nightingale genoemd. Ze was een veelzijdige zangeres, de eerste die moeiteloos de brug sloeg tussen pop en jazz. In de jaren 40 en 50 scoorde ze haar grootste hits en bleef opnemen tot in de jaren 60. Op deze box horen we de diverse kanten van Stafford, van country en jazz tot novelty-songs. We horen haar met de Pied Pipers en het Tommy Dorset Orchestra, met Johnny Mercer, Frankie Laine, Gene Autry e.v.a. Stafford spreekt nog steeds tot de verbeelding en deze box met zeldzaam materiaal is een mooie aanvulling op hetgeen al van haar te krijgen is via JSP.
