Beyond the Stars: Key Recordings 1940-1959

De Amerikaanse zangeres Jo Stafford was een van de allergrootste sterren van de periode direct na de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Ze hield zich zowel in de pop als de jazz moeiteloos staande. JSP bracht al eerder een box van haar uit (JSPCD 950) die een overzicht bood van haar carriÞre van de jaren dertig tot midden jaren vijftig. Noodgedwongen bleef natuurlijk veel moois buiten beeld en dat komt op deze chronologisch opgebouwde set aan bod, inclusief vijf van de populairste platen die ze in de jaren 50 opnam. Een fraai overzicht en niet alleen voor de fans!
