Samensteller en annoteur van volume 1 (JSPCD 924) Steve Briggs is overleden en nu heeft jazzrecensent Sally-Ann Worsfold de draad opgepakt. Deze 4-cdbox beslaat de periode 1929-1940 en bevat opnames uit de archieven van o.a. Brunswick en Victor. Er is veel zorg besteed aan de samenstelling, zodat deze box het predikaat aanrader zeker verdient.
