Songbirds: Albanian Music from 78s - 1924-1948

Voor velen is AlbaniÙ een onbekend land, dat lang volkomen afgesloten was van het westen. De muziek uit AlbaniÙ is nog minder bekend, maar daar helpt deze prachtige 4-cd-box gelukkig bij. Zeer mooi gerestaureerde opnames van 78-toeren platen geven een beeld van de diversiteit aan muziek door de Ghegs in het noorden (monofoon, muzikale begeleiding) en de Tosk in het zuiden (polyfoon, a capella).
