Skiffle: From Britain to Broadway

Skiffle was in de jaren 30 in de VS een mix van blues, boogie woogie en andere zwarte muziek. In de jaren 50 werd skiffle, nu een mix van jazz en countryblues, ineens razend populair in Groot-BrittanniÙ. Dat kwam onder andere door Lonnie Donegan, die meer dan 20 Top-30-hits scoorde en de populaire muziek voorgoed veranderde gezien de invloed die hij had op o.a. de Beatles en de Stones. Op deze prachtbox staan niet alleen Donegan zelf, maar ook andere belangrijke skiffle-artiesten als Chris Barber en Ken Colyer.
