Country Fiddle

Deze 4-cdbox is geheel gewijd aan countrymuziek uit de jaren 20 en 30, toen de blauwdruk voor alle latere countrymuziek gemaakt werd. De eerste cd is geheel gewijd aan fiddler Earl Johnson, die bekend stond om zijn woeste vioolspel en energieke zang. De Leake County Revelers op cd 2 waren een van de populairste old-time stringbands in het Mississippi van de jaren 20, juist vanwege hun wat lagere tempo en hun originele walsen. Een groot deel van cd 3 is voor de East Texas Serenaders, die met n been in bluegrass en met het andere in western swing stonden. Een opvallende band, niet in het minst door het gebruik van de cello (!). Met nog een leuke keuze uit wat minder bekende bands op cd 3 en 4 is dit een zeer waardevol overzicht voor countryliefhebbers geworden.
