Johnny Jones behoorde tot een elitegroep van Chicagoblues-pianisten. Behalve Jones zelf behoorden daar ook Otis Spann, Sunnyland Slim, Memphis Slim en Little Brother Montgomery bij. Jones was aanwezig op alle opnames die Elmore James in de jaren 50 maakte en trad verder regelmatig op met Muddy, Jimmy Rogers en Dusty Brown. Op deze dubbelaar vind je mooi werk van de top van Chicago: Jones met Tampa Red, Junior Wells, Elmore James e.a. En vlak ook de sidemen niet uit, o.a. Ransom Knowling, Odie Payne en Red Saunders.
