Gitarist Freddie King werd begin jaren 60 populair door een aantal aanstekende instrumentals die (grotere of kleinere) hits werden. Zijn spel is be´nvloed door Jimmy Rogers en Robert Jr. Lockwood. King werd zelf een voorbeeld voor Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor en Stevie Ray Vaughan, om maar enkelen te noemen. Deze dubbel-cd bevat de allereerste opnames die King maakte voor Federal Records (een sublabel van het legendarische King Records), met o.a. zijn grootste hit Hide Away. Op de 2e cd staat een tweede sessie voor Federal, gemaakt eind 1962. Het leuke van deze dubbelaar is dat alle alternate takes er ook op staan, voer voor verzamelaars!
