The Famous Hokum Boys

In 1930 maakten Big Bill Broonzy en Georgia Tom Dorsey tientallen opnames onder de naam The Famous Hokum Boys. Zij worden hier en daar bijgestaan door Scrapper Blackwell (gitaar) en Mozelle Alderson (zang). Hokum Songs waren dubbelzinnige, komische liedjes, die eigenlijk niet erg hoog in aanzien stonden. Maar zoals je kunt verwachten van uitstekende muzikanten blijken deze 52 nummers van verrassend hoge kwaliteit te zijn. JSP heeft zoals tijd veel zorg besteed aan de samenstelling van deze set, die bluesfans aangenaam zal verrassen.
