ABOUT THE ARTIST
Both longtime jazz and life veterans, these are well-known and well-seasoned bebop legends. Lanphere recorded his first record in 1948 with Fats Navarro, Max Roach & the rest of Charlie Parker's rhythm section. He toured the world with Woody Herman's Thundering Herd, Claude Thornhill and many others before retiring to WA state to run his Dad's music store. Returning to performing in 1980, he has since recorded over 10 albums (mostly for the Scottish Hep label) and tours regularly. Christlieb is, of course, best known for his 20+ years on the Tonight Show Band and his numerous album and festival appearances.
