The Nign of Reb Mendel is de tweede cd op Traditional Crossroads waarop de Amerikaanse klarinettist Joel Rubin de relatie tussen Joodse instrumentale klezmer en de Chassidische vocale traditie onderzoekt. Daartoe is rabbijn Eli Silberstein, geboren in Antwerpen, tot het ensemble toegetreden. Hij is wereldberoemd als religieus zanger, alhoewel zijn zangstijl en repertoire zelden buiten de religieuze gemeenschap te horen zijn.
