Die Veröffentlichung von Nights from the Alhambra folgt nur wenige Monate auf den deutschen Top-Ten-Erfolg von "An Ancient Muse", Loreenas erstem Studioalbum seit fast zehn Jahren. "Nights from the Alhambra" ist ein wunderschönes audiovisuelles Dokument der Tournee zu diesem Album, deren sechs Deutschlandkonzerte im März und April vor ausverkauften Hallen stattfanden.

Auf dieser ersten Konzertveröffentlichung auf DVD wird Loreena von renommierten Musikern aus Großbritannien, Griechenland, Kanada und den Vereinigten Staaten begleitet. Der Auftritt fand auf einer speziell zu diesem Zweck errichteten Bühne in der Alhambra, der berühmten Weltkulturerbestätte, statt, wo bisher nur wenige Künstler auftreten durften. Im Verlauf von 18 Stücken führt Loreena das Publikum durch die ganze Bandbreite ihres erfolgreichen künstlerischen Schaffens - von traditionellen keltischen Balladen über Texte von Shakespeare, Tennyson und Yeats bis zu den Höhepunkten von "An Ancient Muse".
