In the 12th and 13th centuries, the trobairitz were mostly noble women who were given a voice, their poetry was sung, and that should tell us something about the society in which they lived. Composer Sean Dagher brillantly set to music poems (written in occitan, language of oc) that reflect themes such as love, and questions about how to manage expectations of marriage and motherhood. With the music of La NEF, the delightful voice of singer Shannon Mercer makes these works irresistible.

Au XIIe et XIIe siècle, les trobairitz étaient principalement des femmes de la noblesse qui s’exprimait par une poésie chantée, nous renseignant sur la société dans laquelle elles vivaient. Le compositeur Sean Dagher a brillement mis en musique des poèmes en occitan (langue d’oc) qui reflètent les thèmes de l’amour, du mariage et de la maternité. À la musique de l’ensemble La NEF s’ajoute la finesse de la chanteuse Shannon Mercer qui rend le tout irrésistible.
