"The Dupr Prelude and Fugue is given a marvellous performance--one of the most exciting on disc. The Bach, a supreme technical and intellectual test, receives sympathetic handling. Morrison gets to the heart of the Moeran more than most and plays the Spong with grace and wit, letting his hair down when appropriate.

This is a disc to which I have returned--many times. Alan Morrison is a fine antidote to bland, glib playing. There is a personal involvement with the music, as opposed to a remote dalliance. Musically speaking, here's a chap who really knows his onions; I hope that he will be persuaded to make more recordings."
