In February 1992, SEPTEMBER'S CHILD frustrated with two years of the local scene in Pittsburgh, PA and wanting to get out on the road and "tour", put together a plan to show up at colleges and other locations throughout the eastern U.S. The band released their first album 'September's Child' on cassette and bought a bus. They played wherever and whenever someone would let them, averaging .85 shows per day for everyday they were on the road. Targeting colleges and universities, the band would 'show up' and play for free and sell merchandise to get to the next show location. During the 1992 New Music Seminar in New York City, the band carried up "showing up" one step further by performing on top of their bus, parked outside of the Marriott Marquis to rave reviews. "I work in an office in New York, and I saw this band jamming on a bus and they were awesome", was the message left on their manager's answering machine by Vicki Goldsmith of MTV, the same day of the bus show. The New York Police Department was not as impressed, shutting down three of the five bus performances during the New Music Seminar. The band released their next album 'Curiosity Shop' on CD and cassette, and continued to tour throughout 1993, performing at colleges throughout the northeast before regrouping and moving to Minneapolis, MN. Eight years would pass before the next album would be released. "One of These Days." was a success for the newly re-formed band within the mid-western market. The band was voted "Best Local Rock Band" for 1999 in Minneapolis' City Pages. The single "Destination: Nowhere" was featured in the Mitch Hedburg movie "Los Enchiladas". The band would continue to perform throughout the mid-west for the next year before entering the studio to record 'Shooting Falling Stars'. SInce 2002, the band has been on an 'indefinite' hiatus.
