John Corigliano: Mr. Tambourine Man. Seven Poems of Bob Dylan

Spätestens als Bob Dylan 2016, als erster Musiker überhaupt, den Nobelpreis für Literatur „für seine poetischen Neuschöpfungen in der großen amerikanischen Songtradition“ erhielt, rückte der Literat Dylan in den Mittelpunkt der Betrachtungen. Bereits im Jahr 2000 schuf der bedeutende zeitgenössische Komponist John Corigliano den Liedzyklus „Mr. Tambourine Man: Seven Poems of Bob Dylan“, der auf sieben Texten Dylans, nicht aber auf seiner Musik basiert. 2003 folgte eine (sehr erfolgreiche) orchestrierte Fassung des Zyklus und einige Jahre später entstand eine kammermusikalische Fassung, die hier als Ersteinspielung vorliegt. Ergänzt wird der eindringliche Zyklus durch „Gryphon Realms“ für Klaviertrio des kanadischen Komponisten Vincent Ho.
