Round Wheeler / Erios Jazz Orchestra

In Round Wheeler, Kenny Wheeler's catalogue reveals its full scope: a sense of long form, orchestral colors and memory transformed into musical architecture. At the heart of the program, The Sweet Time Suite deploys eight paintings as a narrative without words, where dedications and thematic feedback shape a continuous fresco. Kayak and Sophie complete this author's portrait, combining singing lyricism and subtle harmonies. Here jazz becomes writing — a writing that preserves, in its very form, the breath of improvisation.
