Die neue Gesamteinspielung von Giulia Ballaré basiert auf den von Frédéric Zigante kuratierten Neuausgaben, bei denen alle verfügbaren handschriftlichen Quellen für jedes Stück konsultiert wurden. Giulia Ballaré hat insbesondere die Manuskriptversion der Douze Études von 1928 aufgenommen, ein Werk, das Villa-Lobos vor der offiziellen Veröffentlichung in den Fünfzigerjahren mehrfach überarbeitet hat.
