This beautiful programme for solo organ features works by Johann Sebastian Bach and by Johann Gottfried Walther, seen as mirroring, quite literally, each other. Most pieces, in fact, are "reflected" in a composition by the other musician; there are works on theme by Corelli written by both Bach and Walther, Concertos after Vivaldi transcribed by both, chorale elaborations on Das alte Jahr vergangen ist and Jesu meine Freude created by both. This close comparison allows the listener to grasp both the similarity and the originality of both composers, highlighted by the masterful performance by Federico Terzi.
