Auch jemand, der als Vorbild dient, ist von Bewunderung nicht frei: Ex-Eurythmiker Dave Stewart muß intensiv Bowie (Hunky Dory) gehört haben. Beim Solo nach Spiritual Cowboys und dem Duo Vegas halfen Bootsy Collins, Lou Reed, David Sanborn, Carly Simon, Mick Jagger im Background. Stewart hat's drauf: brüchige Songs, spannende Kontraste aus wilden Gitarren und hymnischen Chören. Oder ein sphärisches Mysterium wie Kinky Sweetheart, mit Laurie Anderson. Und Jealousy, groovy Pop samt Kinderlied, muß ihm erst mal einer nachmachen.
