DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This is not the standard edition of this title, but the rare 1992, earlier, less well-know album – the best-known one being the 1994 album. Not all the tracks are different, but some tracks with the same titles are actually a very different version. This 1992 album presents some wonderful alternative, dreamy versions for at least the following songs: “Son Of The Sun”, “Akua Tuta / Take care” (Track 12: “Version Rock”), and “Apu Tshekuan Nikuan Nikan'kuian / Nothing Can Stop Me”). A few of the other songs have sometimes only slightly different versions, and may be longer or shorter. The CD contains a nice 8-page booklet, with small B&W photos and some explanatory notes or synopsis on each song, in both French and English. All the titles on the track list are given in all 3 languages: Innu-Aimun, French and English. The duo Kashtin, Florent Vollant & Claude McKenzie are Native Americans from the Canadian province Quebec, from the Innu (formerly called Montagnais) nation and reservation called Maliotenam, in Northern Quebec. They sing most of their songs in their lovely native tongue, Innu-Aimun. “Akua Tuta” (Take Care) is about respect, responsibility and giving back, and taking care of your own garden; not being just a tourist on this earth. In this song’s lyrics: “ Take care of what you have received, Take care of what took care of you, Take care of what has helped you, Take care of your grand parents, Take care of your land, Take care of your children, take care of your younger siblings too.” - themes dear to large numbers of today’s Amerindians.
