De in Frankrijk geboren saxofonist Jonathan Orland studeerde o.a. aan het Berklee College Of Music in Boston bij George Garzone en Bill Pierce. Terug in Parijs nam Orland zijn derde cd als leider op, met zijn eigen kwartet. "Between classicism and modernity, Orland's playing is impressive with its inventiveness and virtuosic character."
