De All Music Guide omschrijft pianist Stan Cowell als een excellent modern, mainstream pianist die helaas lang onderschat bleef. Oorspronkelijk was een andere pianist ingepland voor deze cd. Cowell is pas op het laatste moment gevraagd, hetgeen de reden is dat er een aantal standards opgenomen zijn. Cowell is namelijk ook een zeer verdienstelijk componist, zoals blijkt uit het lange openingsnummer Photon in a paper world. Ondanks de korte inwerktijd vormen de drie muzikanten een mooie eenheid.
