The Barley Mow

Al in 1949 begon Pete Kennedy met veldopnames in Suffolk, op eigen initiatief en eigen kosten. In de periode 1953-1956, de tijd dat de opnames op deze cd en dvd gemaakt zijn, werkte hij o.a. voor de BBC en in zijn vrije tijd samen met Alan Lomax. Deze cd bevat uitsluitend ballads. Op de dvd is prachtig te zien hoe het vroeger toeging in de pubs: een of meerdere zangers, de rest van het publiek er om heen, enthousiast meezingend. Een schitterende kijk in het verleden.
