Sigrid Onegin Vol. 1

Descrizione prodotto Airs d'opéra (Donizetti, Bizet, St-Saëns, Wagner, Verdi, Kienzl) - Lieder ou mélodies de Brahms, Bizet, Weckerlin. / Sigrid Onegin, contralto (1889-1943) Recensione Born in Stockholm of a German father and a French mother and first married to a Russian, Onegin just had to be cosmopolitan. Her three-octave range took her down to the depths and up to the soprano register. Like Schumann-Heink she was wonderful in Fidès scenes and had a wide range of operatic roles. Both the records of Brahmss Von ewiger Liebe (this one dated 1919) are deeply moving and I even love her in Alto Rhapsody with its extravagant portamento. --Gramophone
