"Wer zum Teufel ist Johnny La Marama?", fragte man sich 2006 beim Debütalbum der Band mit dem seltsamen Namen. Jetzt kommt heraus: Der Unhold wohnt wirklich nahe der Hölle, um genau zu sein, im Fegefeuer. Logisch also, dass Kalle Kalima, Chris Dahlgren und Eric Schaefer ihren fiktiven Desperado nach "Fire!" und "Bicycle Revolution" nun ins "Il purgatorio" schicken. Ursprünglich war das für Christen als ein Ort zur Erholung gedacht, bevor man in den Himmel fährt. Vermutlich dachte auch Johnny La Marama, dass das Fegefeuer eine besonders illuminierte Art von Lounge-Bar sei. Ein höllischer Irrtum. Inspiriert von Dantes "Göttlicher Komödie" hat das Trio Dantes Sieben-Stufen-Plan der Erlösung um ein paar interessante Programmpunkte erweitert, in denen die Hörer Bekanntschaft mit Vergil, Carlo Gesualdo und Hans Hansson machen. Kurzum: In Johnnys Vorhof der Hölle wird der Hörer gut gegrillt, das Berliner "Purgatorio" hört sich zuweilen an, als ob eine Stahlpresse mit Festplattenfehler auf Autopilot läuft. Es rockt und knallt, seufzt und groovt in allen Tonlagen und Metren.
