First ever release of this long lost album recorded in 1972. Tom Snow started his musical career in 1965 as a member of THE LIKE with the legendary Gram Parsons, Ian Dunlop, Mickey Gauvin & John Nuese. When THE LIKE morphed into THE INTERNATIONAL SUBMARINE BAND Tom decided to stay at college in Boston than move to LA with Gram and ISB. However after Tom graduated he made the move to LA and hooked up with Michael Fondiler and together with Steve Fondiler, Bobby De Simone & Ian Espinoza formed COUNTRY and released their little known but highly regarded self-titled album in 1971 (also available on Slipstream Records) Tom decided to leave COUNTRY but stayed with COUNTRY's then manager Peter Asher and recorded this, his first solo album. Sadly the record got shelved but 40+ years on UPTOWN HOPEFUL finally sees a well overdue release. Recorded with the best of LA's session men Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, Red Rhodes, Wilton Felder and Michael Brecker UPTOWN HOPEFUL is a heartfelt collection of singer-songwriter piano led songs with more up-tempo Country Rock tracks in the vein of James Taylor, Carole King and Jackson Browne
