Breathing Diesel embodies the evolution of dark and heavy riff rock, drawing stylistically from multiple genres, including post-grunge, stoner rock, space rock, alternative metal and psychedelia. The band's 'future-retro' sound is influenced greatly by hard rock giants Alice in Chains, Audioslave and Black Sabbath, and delivered with a mix of modern and retro equipment, including Mesa Boogie Mark III amplifiers and booming 1970s vintage Ludwig Vistalite drums (a la John Bonham). Born of the legendary independent rock scene of Asbury Park, New Jersey, Breathing Diesel is veteran to the club circuit from New York to Los Angeles. Prior to formation, the band's members individually collaborated with and shared the stage with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and hard rock legends as part of other projects. Breathing Diesel produced two full length LPs, gigged extensively on their original home turf of New York City and New Jersey, and toured the West Coast prior to a hiatus of several years to work on other projects. Tracks from Breathing Diesel's LP titled Fragile Reality can be heard on the drug-culture cult film Grace and the Storm, and are also used in the promotion of professional mixed martial arts events. After a groundswell of fan interest and surging digital sales in the U.S. and Europe, Breathing Diesel returns with the EP Greasy in 2013. Additional releases are scheduled for 2014.
