Ever since owner and creative director Wendy Newton first heard traditional music played by fiddler Tommy Peoples in a pub in Ennistymon, County Clare, while on a 1975 holiday, the Green Linnet label has been recording a formidable roster of Irish luminaries. A Celtic Heart presents the very best recordings from Green Linnet's vaults as selected by noted Celtic music writer John Crosby. Songs and instrumentals, upbeat jigs and downbeat laments are presented in a who's who of classic and emerging Celtic artists on a unique and enthralling compilation.
