Under California Stars was made in 1948 and celebrated Rogers' tenth anniversary in movies. Here he is welcomed home by the Sons Of The Pioneers and the comic performance of guest Andy Devine, but soon discovers a plot by a gang of rustlers to kidnap the famous Trigger and hold out for a ransom of $ 100.000. Trigger is in danger but a disabled kid befriended by Rogers heroically saves him with the help of his dog. The bad guys ware convincingly played and the usual mixture of exciting shooting with musical interludes is complemented this time by a star role for Trigger.
