Natural Velvet è Corynne Ostermann (basso, voce), Greg Hatem (batteria), Spike Arreaga (chitarra) e Kim Te (chitarra). Il quartetto post-punk è noto nella loro nativa Baltimora per un suono distinto che è sia aggressivo che orecchiabile. Incorniciato da chitarre lavanti, voci che ululano e armonizzano alternativamente e suoni di batteria pulsanti, Natural Velvet crea musica che si muove tra gazey indie pop e gutturale, "wall of sound" noise rock. Le linee di basso aggressive uniscono una struttura oscura e presagente, lasciando all'ascoltatore una melodia ossessionante e un ritmo ipnotico. A volte conflittuale, a volte seducente, la voce di Ostermann guida l'ascoltatore attraverso oscure narrazioni rotolanti di identità, esistenza, rabbia e femminilità. La band è iniziata nel 2012 e pubblicherà Mirror To Make You su Friends Records a metà del 2017.
