Seize the Time marks Flattbush's piledriving followup to their debut CD Smash the Octopus!, an album described by Barney Greenway of Napalm Death as 'Savage'. On this new release, the riffs have become uglier, the bottom end deeper, the chaos factor intensified. and the message more direct than ever. It also marks the addition of current drummer Joe Luevano, a Flattbush fan and self-taught master of the skins, who has since proved to become an invaluable member of the team. Hold on to your knickers and lace up your sh*tkickers. As the saying goes, if you're not angry, you're not paying attention. Considering the unending onslaught of insidious political injustice in the world, the lack of inspired, honest and informed musical dissent out there isn't depressing. It's f*cking infuriating. But that's just endemic of the state of things - people voicing real grievance against the powers-that-be don't tend to find themselves headlining stadium tours. Things aren't that much better in the underground, which, for better and for worse, tends to breed more self-righteous political poseurs than balls-to-the-wall revolutionaries. But fear not, there is always some shred of realness to be found. When it comes to militant, socialist rage, hip-hop has The Coup and Immortal Technique.
