Spicehouse's fourth full-length release, As Long As Stars Keep Falling, marks a return to their '70s roots. Comprised of songs that are more compactly composed than on the band's previous albums, the sound is clearly influenced by the vibe of a vastly varied period in music, from the majestic, medieval progressive rock of the early '70s to the groovy, funk-driven vibe of the mid-decade to the sinewy, synth-tinged sounds of the end of the era. Despite paying homage to it's musical predecessors, Spicehouse continues to blend it's own special brand of trip hop and world music, which mixes well here, especially in songs such as Touch, Waiting for You, and instrumental offerings including Saigon Blues and Rhythm of the Streets.
