Das schießwütige Trio um Ex-Mclusky Jon Chapple macht jetzt Ernst. Wo das "Soon There Will Be Shooting At Unarmed Men" Album von 2005 eine Art Vorspiel war, folgt nun der Hauptakt in Form eines ordentlichen Debütalbums. Zwischenzeitlich sind sie im Königreich auf und ab getourt und haben sich nicht nur eine ordentliche Fangemeinde erspielt sondern auch schon den ersten (Zweit-) Bassisten auf der Strecke verloren. Mit Neuzugang Simon Jarvis gelingt Shooting At Unarmed Men nun eine runde, kompakte Indie-Rock-Platte, die durchgängig Spaß macht. Obwohl sie gelegentlich subtil um die Ecke kommen ("In-flight instructions are a joke - say I") legen sie ihre Meisterprünfugn vor allem im Fach Beherzt-Brutales Rocken ("All Hail Sergio") mit 1 Plus ab. Dabei fängt ihr hintergründiger Humor bei den Songtiteln gerade mal erst an und hört nach dem 10. Stück noch lange nicht auf - mehr sei hier nicht verraten.
