For any three-piece band, there's always a challengeabout song structure, because of the absence of alead guitar or additional instruments. Alaskan mastersperfectly this, and while you can hear perfectly everyinstrument on the album, you don't have theimpression that something is missing. "Noises" wereadded here and there in the background, and this aspectof the production makes me want to go back to the albumfrom time to time just for its "layers" quality.Another thing that I mentioned previously is themusician's dedication to their band. They are serious intheir approach, and have one new release every year.Moreover, they have followed the steps of fellows BuriedInside and toured intensively the last years. Live, Alaskandelivers a amazing performance and the live set livesto its promises. While I agree that Alaskan might not be100% original, I didn't expect an experimental band either.The band knows how to compose songs that "feels" darkand heavy, and they can easily compare with other bandslike Amen Ra, Neurosis, Fall Of Efrafa. So listen to yourfriend: Alaskan is without a doubt worth to check out.
