The third volume in Bine Bryndorf's ongoing series of Buxtehude's organ works is recorded in a more intimate, closer acoustic and on a smaller instrument than in the preceding two volumes.

The instrument may have changed but what has remained constant is Bine Bryndorf's lively response to and her intuitive rapport with the music and instrument on which she plays.

Faultless registration and tempi; fluidity of rhythm and her ability to make the instrument sing out into the acoustic of the building are becoming hallmarks of this series. These qualities make her playing of the Choral Preludes particularly effective; a perfect balance of the melody against its contrasting accompaniment.

The clarity of her playing reveals the many treasures hidden within the score. With playing so full of life and as rewarding as this these CDs aren't on the shelf collecting dust very often. I'm already looking forward to the next volume.
