George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Dave Edmunds & Rosanne Cash joined Perkins for a celebration of the music that helped shape rock 'n' roll. Produced & directed by Dave Edmunds, the session sees Perkins revisit some of his best-loved songs alongside friends & fellow admirers. Ringo Starr joins Perkins & Clapton for "Matchbox", while Clapton & Perkins trade licks on "Mean Woman Blues" & "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On". Harrison & Perkins share vocals on "Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby" & "Glad All Over", with Dave Edmunds appearing throughout & Rosanne Cash joining Perkins for "Jackson" & "What Kind Of Girl". The performance culminates in "Blue Suede Shoes", the song that launched Perkins to international fame, bringing the session to a fitting close. Originally broadcast in 1986, 'Blue Suede Shoes - A Rockabilly Session' remains a unique snapshot of Perkins at the centre of the music he helped create, surrounded by artists from different generations who came together to celebrate his lasting legacy. Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, this edition presents a 16-track selection from the original performance on yellow vinyl, bringing together Carl Perkins & an extraordinary line-up of friends for one unforgettable rock 'n' roll session.
