While still in her teens, Helene 33 was running a drive-in theater and two barbershops in Kalamazoo, Michigan. One night, while listening to a teenage dance combo, she was asked to sit in on organ. Later they invited Sammy to play guitar. Since forming the group they have played at packed dances all across the country. And long after a dance is scheduled to be over, things are still jumping! Slovenly was supposed to choose two or three of the nine songs The Okmoniks submitted for a single. but all of the songs were so good, it was impossible to choose. Hence the album, their debut! Nine ultracatchy dance party destined classics that will keep you moving in your chair and humming along. This is their cleanest recording yet, but the garage-pop trashiness of their singles has NOT been lost -- they've succeeded, with this recording, where THE MUMMIES failed!
