Cover Art is a collection of 21 songs lovingly arranged and performed with warm intimate vocals supported by dynamic acoustic guitar. It presents a generous assortment of songs cherry picked from the greats: Warren Zevon, Bob Dylan, Fats Waller, Randy Newman, Lucinda Williams, Michael Peter Smith, Ron Sexsmith, Jennifer Warnes, Anna McGarrigle, Blind Boy Fuller, and others. Styles encompass Jazz, Blues, Swing, Folk, and Pop. Michael Derning has been playing guitar and singing since his late teens. He remains fascinated by the range and synergy of acoustic guitar and voice. Mia Arends grew up singing, harmonizing, and playing various instruments. Harmony and art are her passions. Her original work forms the visual component of Cover Art.
