It is estimated that 20 to 50 percent of all women may have fibroids, which are benign tumors of the uterus. They may grow on or within the uterine wall or in the uterine cavity. Less than one in a thousand may produce a very rare type of cancer. The major problem is the bleeding and their tendency to grow (but not always). Often a hysterectomy is recommended to remove the uterus and fibroids, but studies have shown little justification for surgery in the majority of cases. Dr. Gurgevich has over 33 years of professional experience in medical applications of hypnosis and has treated thousands of patients and trained as many physicians, psychologists, nurses, and other clinicians. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and a certified Approved Consultant to train other professionals.
