Bien ensemble (Good Together) is about connection through friendship and music. Mimosa celebrates 25 years of being a band, through all kinds of weather. They've learned that they don't have to be exactly the same type of human to have strong deep bonds with one another. In fact, one could say that the art of friendship and music is to create a whole that is greater than its parts, to compensate for each other's weaknesses and augment each other's strengths. By combining players with different backgrounds, personalities and languages to create together they celebrate diversity and resilience. This bilingual (French/English) Vancouver band draws on Jazz, Brazilian Sambas, French 60ies pop and Cabaret music to concoct its own unique sound: gorgeous melodies, quirky lyrics, incredible groove and sky-high improvisations. Featuring Rebecca Shoichet on vocals and accordion, Anna Lumière on piano, accordion, organ, keys and vocals, Karen Graves on saxophones, flute and vocals, Conrad Good on upright bass and gang vocals, Bernie Arai on drums and gang vocals, Heather Anderson on trumpet and flugelhorn, and Susana Williams on percussion.
