Who is Magneto? Magneto Erik Magnus Lehnsherr, a mutant with the ability to control and manipulate magnetic fields and all forms of metal. Born to a Jewish family, he endured persecution and imprisonment in Auschwitz during World War II. After escaping in 1944, he began anew in Russia under the name Magnus, marrying Magda and fathering a daughter, Anya. However, a confrontation with a blackmailer led to his house being set ablaze, resulting in Anya’s death.
