The Killer Clown

Vlad T. Addams' music blends elements of grime rap, gangster rap, hip hop, and even hints of trap, all filtered through a dominant horror perspective. Each song features macabre, often cinematic, intros, contributing to a style that sits uniquely between Hip Hop and esoteric industrial culture, with gothic and near-metal textures. It's a disorienting yet captivating journey through a range of ideas and atmospheres. The album showcases a variety of vocal styles and guest appearances, including the enchanting presence of Miss JB (Just Guess).

"The Killer Clown" marks the second album from the Italian-American musician and producer, following closely on the heels of his debut. While maintaining the horror-infused style and sonic palette of its predecessor, the new album presents a more accessible and, at times, more commercially leaning approach. However, this is unequivocally not a foray into pop music; the tracks retain a powerful essence with memorable choruses and sharp riffs. The album comprises 14 tracks, opening forcefully with the title track, a gangsta hip-hop cut featuring well-honed vocals and a compelling rhythm.

Speaking about the album, Vlad T. Addams stated, "When we finished recording our first album we stopped for a week, normally we would have started promoting the album, in the sense of looking for a label, but instead we continued recording other songs that I had in mind and it was like starting all over again. The debut came out exactly as we wanted and it seemed perfect in its own way, but I wasn't convinced that we had expressed everything exactly, with the idea of making a "dark" album we closed off many possibilities and discarded many things, with "The Killer Clown" I wanted to write something catchier, very rhythmic without breaks, undoubtedly a more incisive and complete work, and our producer decided to launch our second album on the market first."

He added, "When the project was born I had no reference other than Mr. Hyde (USA), so we didn't copy anyone and by doing an online search on horror / rap bands I noticed that they are all oriented towards the standard sound of the genre, they don't have any 'industrial' attitude and they probably never listened to an industrial, esoteric or black metal records. For this reason we are dirtier than others. Our intros testify to this, they are all mini soundtracks and our music has something really dark inside, with all its ironic and cinematic nuances."

Notable tracks on the album include the infectious title track, the captivating "Septimus The Mad Man" with its classic gangsta/grime style, and the intriguing instrumental piece "Instrumental" offering Arabian and desert soundscapes. "Uncle Fester" provides a fitting tribute, while "Yo Listen Up To This Twisted Tale" features the striking female vocals of Miss JB amidst a backdrop of synth sirens, samples, and dark lyrical themes. The album continues its relentless pace with tracks like "Aliens In Egypt" and the highly energetic "Jack In The Shadows", demonstrating a crossover-rap sound with a significant rock edge. The album concludes with the potent "The Killer Nurse" and "Horror Luna Park", solidifying its status as a notable release in its genre. A bonus track, "Haunted Frequencies", offers a drum and bass-infused, humorous twist.
