Sweden possesses a much longer (and experimentally friendly) jazz tradition than is generally known. The history of the attempts to combine Jazz and Swedish Folk Music goes back to the recordings of Bengt-Arne Wallin in the early sixties. Jonas Knotsson belongs to the young generation of artists who create an unusual, richly textured hybrid form of a very special style of Scandinavian World Jazz.
