The Rough Guide to Latin Disco

Vanuit de underground van de New Yorkse nachtclubs heeft disco altijd een grote aantrekkingskracht uitgeoefend op de Latino-gemeenschap in deze stad. Groepen, producers en labels schoten als paddestoelen uit de grond. Met name het label Salsoul had een belangrijke rol in het geheel en inspireerde Latino-muzikanten over de hele wereld. Op deze compilatie staan vijf tracks van dit label, o.a. van de Latin-soulzanger en discopionier Joe Bataan en de Cubaanse percussionist Candido, plus een salsafunk-cover van Sunny en een Colombiaanse discoversie van Kung Fu Fighting.
