The Rough Guide to World Music

Vijfentwintig jaar geleden kwam de eerste Rough Guide-compilatie uit, nu zijn we 369 (!) cds verder. Oprichter en labelbaas Phil Stanton heeft zelf deze jubileumcollectie samengesteld uit zijn Riverboat-label, het label waarop hij nieuwe bands een kans gaf, maar ook enkele grote namen wist te contracteren. Met o.a. Debashish Bhattacharya, de Palestijn Ramzi Aburedwan, klezmerband SheKoyokh, de Chinese folkrockers Shanren en de desertblues van Etran Finatawa is dit een mooie verzamelaar geworden.
