The Rough Guide to Voodoo

Over voodoo bestaan veel misverstanden: het gaat niet over poppetjes en spelden, het komt ook niet alleen in Ha´ti voor. Het is een religie die ook te vinden is in Cuba (santeria), BraziliÙ (candombl) en uiteraard in het moederland Afrika, meer bepaald Benin. Voodoo in New Orleans is een ietwat afwijkende variant. Op deze cd staan nummers van artiesten uit die landen met voodoo of goden als onderwerp, variÙrend van Dr. John en Baden Powell tot de GangbÚ Brass Band. De bonus-cd is van de Ha´tiaanse zanger Erol JosuÚ, tevens een praktiserend voodoo-priester.
